Default Invoice question

Anyone know what the heck this means? It's printed in the middle of my cars invoice.

CMD = Credit Memo Document

What is the build date on the cowl tag , and the invoice date ?
Can you post the whole Invoice ?

It 'might' have been a PMD or PMD Zone use car before it went to a dealer.

Sure. Here it is.

In short, 69 firebird 400 HO automatic with a black power convertible top, Palladium silver body color, black deluxe interior, and some nice options. I had hoped it was a RAIII car.

Need to know the build date code from the trim tag - and see if it predates the Invoice by a ~more than normal~ margin.

A lot of CMD's are for missing options that didn't get installed.
But yours is a full discount on the entire car.
Usually relates to a car with previous use by PMD / PMD Zone.
The " 21* " in lower left above dealer name also relates to that.

And that's a sweet piece of Firebird you have !
It's the same engine as a 69 TA [ code YW ] with LongBranch manifolds.
A lot of us still call it a RamAir III Engine - even though RamAir Induction was an additional option by itself with that engine in a Firebird.

I don't know which carb that engine would have came with, but guessing a Non-RamAir number 262 , 264 , 268 variety.
Have never looked into it

The cowl tag date is 06A same as my 69 TA. Original carb is long gone and I parted out most of the car earlier this year. There wasn't a rust free panel on it.

I bought it for the engine as it's perfect for my 69 TA.

Does it have 62 heads? Probably had 7029270 carb.

Yep 62 heads. I have a correctly dated original 7029270 carb for it when I drop it in my TA.

So what was the list cost of the Ram Air Hood pans?

$84.26
Option #611 Hood R/A Inlet
on a 400 HO car

Too bad the old gal wasn't able to make a comeback.
Was a real nice option list.

There would have been another invoice before this one.
Guessing it was a pre-arranged scenario for a friend of a vested PMD Zone or Norwood employee.
Probably ran the miles up as quickly as possible to the 3,000 mile quota.
The dates are only 3-4 weeks apart.
3 months or 3,000 miles was the quota before they were made available for resale with full warranty.

If I were to find my 69 TAs original block or a closely dated YW block, I be all for putting this one back together as it does have it's born with block and transmission.

PM sent! I've been looking for the block and PQ trans for my 69 TA for 23 years now. I would be absolutely floored if someday one or both are found.

Yes it's the electric solenoid operated remote trunk lid release with the actuation button in the glove box.

I notice there is an star symbol before the date on top and a star 21 in the lower left corner. perhaps they mean something as none of my other PHS's from that plant have those two particularities.

Given the june 30th billing date is close to what the likely build date (based on sequential VIN) I'd be surprised it was a company car. Perhaps it was damaged or they did some test miles at the plant?

North, I think BVZ explained the 21 number, and I would think it also had a previous PHS. The date of the CMD is also 2 weeks after the 'Shipped Date'
and after the Note of Interest.

I have numerous examples with the 21.
All were discounted - previously PMD / Zone cars.

They also used 30, 35, 40 and SP - as indicators.
Have never been able to find out, or glue together complete solid definitions on any except the SP.
Which was special bidding (SP).
Usually cars with high use - or cars that stuck around too long.

The numerical codes seem to be an identifier of a certain amount of discount.
But not the same % as their face value.
Just a classification.
21 is usually associated with 5% cars - i try not to use the word ~always~ when discussing these discount cars. The math factors are wacky and i don't want to try to crunch them.

.00 Hold Back is another indicator on these.

BVZ Thank you for the information!! Do you think that I should ask PHS to look for an earlier invoice for the bird??

The car did have have NOS front fenders installed at some point in its life. Judging by the extreme rot in those fenders, they had to have been there for quite some time. The car was parked in a barn in the late 90s.
