Default 3" round vs 3.5" oval ??

Trying to decide what to do with my exhaust. Years ago I came a cross a Winston Cup road course exhaust system. Has a nice Dr. Gas x-pipe setup. Yes I said Winston Cup so you know how long ago that was ... LOL . Ok FINALLY getting close to start thinking about exhaust for my 67 'Bird. The area cross section between the two isn't that different.

The area of a 3" circle is 28.274333882308
The area of a 3.5" oval is 31.415926535898

So I'm wondering is it worth adapting the 3" collectors to this setup or just go with a more conventional 3" x-pipe system???

It's meant for additional ground clearance over traditional 3" exhaust system. If you don't need the clearance there's not point other than to be unique (if anyone would even see it) or the fact that you already have it available.

Thanks. My main issue/concern was would there me any performance issues with this exhaust since it's a little bigger than normal 3" but less than a 3-1/2" system.

I'm jealous, that's EXACTLY what I want for my 69 Firebird. If you end up not going with it on your 67, PLEASE send me a PM so I can buy it from you if the shipping makes sense to CA.

Thanks!!
