Thank you Mr Dave for the link. I actually talked to the owner in the spring about this one. It was close to what I was looking for except the A/C.

Nice looking car but, I'm looking for a hardtop. Thanks though.

Lyn,

I actually drove out 3yrs ago and looked at this one. I came home with an empty trailer and that's all I have to say about that. Thanks for the lead though.

Was thinking of checking out that car too. Can you tell me why you passed on it?

Have you tried one of the national Craigslist searches such as SearchTempest? I'm always finding all sorts of interesting cars I have no business shopping for. Especially with "Tempest" in the name, it's gotta be a good sign, right?

Kyle,

Yes, I go through search tempest once a week. I use Adhuntr also. I have found some nice Catalina's, but all the nice one's have A/C. So, my search continues. Thanks

So. . . How about I started this thread exactly 6 years ago today. Although my search has been longer but, who says you can't get what you want. Left Friday morning for a 2100 mile round trip to pick up this. The fun will start next year with the rebuild.

Nice Tim! Luv those 70 Cat's. My parents bought a new one in Dec 69, so I grew up in that car.

Super happy you waited and got the car you were looking for. I know how long those searches can take, but they are worth the wait. (I recently did the same thing and bought a 71 GTO hardtop I'd been searching for, off and on, for years.)

Congrats again, and looking forward to seeing more pictures!
