What kind of shape are the rubber isolators in? If they're worn, or absent, maybe you'd gain a little there.

You can buy spacers for the rear and get it exactly where you want it.

Eaton Detroit Spring sells just a spring. They’re not cheap but I’ve had great luck with them.

I had Coil Spring Specialties make a custom set of springs for my '64. I asked for .75" over stock (I had 1 year old PY rear springs at the time). After installing the springs - the rear end was raised exactly .75". IIRC, the springs were about $25 more than the "correct" springs at the time.

Summit has spacers that go between the bottom of the rear spring and the spring perch (?) on the rear. Been using them for 10+yrs

Hello, I had the same problem with a 1965 GTO. I installed a set of MOOG # 6197 springs that raised the ride height 1 1/8 inch and gave a slightly firmer ride. These springs are listed for chevelle applications and are slightly thicker wire diameter, but worked perfect in this application. Replace rubber spring isolators with springs. John

I have the cylindrical spacers that mount on the bottom spring perch, effectively making the spring perch higher. Simple, no change to spring rate, etc.

George

The 6197 will give you what you are looking for. $54 at amazon

I tried them for a few days on a 65 but replaced them with a new set of 5237's as she sat too high for the small rubber I've got on the back.

I agree with the spring spacers in bottom. Cheap and easy to install without changing spring rate.

I did the same on my 65 GTO 6197 springs picked it up over the MOOG GTO replacement spring-which even the new one seemed too low.
Global West has different front spring spacers that fit in the control arm.

My 64 has a some kind of helper spring shocks on the back. I bought the car that way so I don't know who sells them but just another possible option.
