I am about ready to start pulling my engine for noise inspection. I want it professionally assembled this time and am looking for a Good Pontiac engine builder in Rochester or Buffalo NY. Nunzi is to far away as that is a 8 to 10 hour drive.

Does anyone know of anyone Near Rochester?

I thought the Phila. area, but that too would require two trips and that isn't exactly close either...

Thanks

Don

Don, Nunzi's is well worth the trip, best have the job done once. Every time I have Nunzi do somthing for me I am Impressed. Every part is top notch workmanship is far above other shops, and I concider Nunzi a close personal friend.

Nunzi is definately worth the trip. Or how about going to Ohio to Kaufmans?

Well, maybe I'll give nunzi a call on Monday and see if he can give me a ballpark price.

I don't think there is anything major that needs to be done, but won't know for sure until it is opened up and inspected.

I have all the written specs that the previous shop gave me, so he'll know what was done before..

Thanks

Don

Don,

I had my motor from my Judge rebuilt twice by a local so called Pontiac engine builder. It keep blowing smoke and the rear main leaked a quart of oil every 75 miles. I spent over $4,000 to have him rebuild it, so I wasn't going to let him try a third time. I wanted it fixed right, so I took it to Kauffman Racing Equipment in Ohio. Jeff Kauffman is great! I have never heard anything negative about them. I should have my motor back in a couple more weeks. Good Luck with yours.

You could also try Paul Spotts. He is based in Hatfield PA, about 3.5 hours south of you.

Great, thanks guys.

Ohio wouldn't be bad, I could visit friends... Phila area wouldn't be bad either, I could visit family..

I'll check it out. Motor is still in the car as it is way to cold outside to even begin to pull it.. First semi warm Saturday and out it comes... My budget for this sits at around $2,200, and since all of the parts in the motor are new or already reconditioned I figure it won't take all of it.

I will be switching from the Ram Air IV cam to the Crower 60916 with 1.65 rockers, so parts wise I am only looking at cam, lifters, gaskets, BOP seal, and maybe bearings..

Well, after looking on Mapquest at the different locations, and checking web pages, I will go with Paul Spotts!

Heck, I can even drop in and say hello to the PY guys when I am down there and my In-Laws live about 15 miles from Hatfield. I used to live in that area, down in Warminster... So I'll make it a fun trip and I'll have a place to stay overnight so I don't have to do a down and back the same day.

Now If I can keep everything within budget....

Thanks, I am calling Paul today to get on his schedule.
