OK, I thought I had everything I needed, but after looking at my pushrod cover (AKA valley pan) again, I've decided it's got to go - it's just too beat up! Please, I need a REALLY nice, undented '68-'72 (non-EGR) pushrod cover without any serious rust. I'd like to have it by the middle of this month because I'll need to clean, prep and install it before Jeff sprays the engine for me. Jeff thought he had one, but all of his spares are '73 & later (EGR style).

E-mail me a pic, name your price and I'll shoot you a check or money order immediately.

TIA,
Lloyd

'72 Formula 400 - soon to be a 455HO, TH400, A/C, etc.; Lucerne Blue with Medium Blue Interior
Restoring a '72 GTO 455HO, TH400, A/C, etc.; Sundance Orange with Parchment buckets

LG:

The EGR style pushrod covers have an extremely deep "dip" in the center (under the heat crossover area of the intake manifold) to clear EGR-equipped intake manifolds. The '68-'72 pushrod covers have a relatively shallow "dip" in the center. The EGR style cover would fit my engine just fine but I want the original "look".

Thanks,
Lloyd

Skip:

That sounds OK, if it's that filthy hopefully it won't have much rust. If you can put your hands on it, let me know. I'll pick it up from you and have it tanked, and if it's OK I'll buy it from you. Give me a shout and let me know.

Larry:

One of those on e-bay looked pretty nice. I'll prolly bid on it even though I'm gonna get the one from Skip.

Lloyd

do they make an aftermarket pan without the PCV hole?

So let me get this straight:
Your Honda has 1.6 liters and my bottle of Mountain Dew has 2?

Give me a shout when you find it. I'll figure out when I can get by for it.

BTW, I finally dug out my old Q-Jet books and ordered darn near every primary jet, primary rod, secondary rod, power piston spring and inlet valve listed. Ended up with almost everything I ordered except the secondary rods - got just 5 pairs out of more than a dozen I ordered.

I'd like to borrow the DG's we used on the dyno to compare with the ones I have. I'm pretty sure one or two pairs will be "close enough"!

Talk later,
Lloyd
