I am trying to identify an early tri power manifold. I think it is a '61, but am not sure.
the only number on this thing is K40, on the underside. Is this a casting date code? Nov 4th, 1960? According to the Wallace Racing page there are only a couple of years without casting numbers on the piece. '57, '58, & '61. If the K40 is a casting date, I would assume this to be for a '61 model year big car. Can anyone confirm this? thanks, Tim |

K40 would indicate 1961. Chevrolet also had tripower in 1961. The absence of a casting number does not necessarily indicate that the factory did not place a casting number on the part. Have seen manifolds from most years with no casting numbers (some from factory, some ground off and intake polished). Also, the factory placed casting numbers on some manifolds from all years.
