I have a nice rebuilt 7041264 Quadrajet that I'm thinking about putting on my GTO. I've been running a Holley. This carb is missing its rear vacuum fitting, do I need to have one in there? Is this where for example you would hook-up your auto trans vacuum line, and if the above is all correct where would be a good place to buy this fitting?
Thanks.

The fitting is neccessary if you have power brakes or an automatic tranny. It is where most people get the vacuum from. I'm pretty sure that every Qjet had this fitting. I've never seen one without it.

There were many thousands of them made for lots of different cars and the back fitting should be exactly the same for everyone of them. It should be quite easy to find one.

Any boneyard should have one. A lot of times when people grab the carb they leave the fitting. There might also be someone near you that might have an extra one laying around. You can also try Ebay as well.

I would put a post in the parts for sale section of the forum. I think that might be your best bet if you don't want to search the boneyard. Hope this helps.
