looking for a value on these before i commit to purchasing. ive never seen them before and i cant find them anywhere on the net.... i have to have them but i dont want to overspend

If you have to have them just buy them for what he wants and don't look back. I would think on the open market like e-bay it would not suprise me to see them sell for $600-$1000 dollars.

i will probably buy them, but the price isnt cheap. ive just never seen them before and want to get some info on them to see if they are legit dealer promo items. i know there are some former dealers around this site who might share some insight to these.

I'd jump on them.

I collect and I cant think of ever seeing this three set for sale.

If you really want them, I'd buy now.

I missed a sign at an auction that I "really" wanted and have never seen another.

Its my quest now to find one......lol

They were on ebay. It was 2 'firebird' ones. This was around 2002 or so. I was in college at the time and needed the funds for other things. Haven;t seen a set since, but wish I would have snagged it.

Are these little (approx. 16" square) danglers? I can't believe someone would pay $600-1000 for them. Not sure about the year.

But, I like them and would buy them. $200 seems too high also.

You wouldnt come close to buying them for $200. imo

Pontiac collectibles sell. Since they only made one per dealer, and many were thrown away there is always a higher demand then supply.

I bet there would be two dozen people or more bidding on these if on ebay. imo

im paying a little bit more than 200, but it comes with some other dealer items as well to round out the deal. the only thing that bothers me about them is the coloring, it looks more like the early 80s than the 70s style. either way i will be getting them this week.
i apologize to the moderators for listing this in the for sale catagory but i didnt know where else to post it.
i thank all the members who shared some information about these.

Jeff,

I thought these were ordered by dealerships, so there could have been more than 1 set per dealer.
You replied earlier there is 3, but there is only 2. Both have Firebird on one side and one has Formula 400 and the other has Trans Am on the other side.

I was thinking '75, going by the colors. 400 engines ended in '79 model year.

Mike, you are correct, I assumed there were three.

Some dealers may have had more sets, good point.

The non metal advertising stuff didnt stick around long though, imo.

I like them! Good luck.

I have a "1970 Plus Firebird" Sales Promotion Brochure (first time I've ever seen Pontiac call the 70-1/2 Firebird the "70 Plus" model). In this brochure, there are several different variations of the fluorescent-on-foil Firebird logo. It's intended to be an attention-getter to generate showroom traffic with the new 1970 Plus Firebird.

What you have there are ceiling hangers. Defintely the real deal! Good find!

Rocky sent me a copy. I'll post the part I think that pertains to the picture.

And, if it is part of this, I could see a complete unit selling for $600-1000.

well i decided not to buy the hangers, the guy is one of my very good frinds of 20 years. he is only selling the parts to buy a dream car of his.... a 61 cat tripower. i know i would have profited greatly off of these hangers and i would have felt miserable about it..... so i decided not to buy them and told him to list them on ebay. he is listing them each seperately. here is one of the item numbers, 190509186643 .
here is a link to all his auctions.
http://shop.ebay.com/favoredones/m.h...id=p4340.l2562 .

Wow. Never under estimate the value of Pontiac memorabilia.
Formula 400 piece sold for a little over $276.
Trans Am piece sold for a little over $204.
