With my car at 3520# race weight, caltracs and 200# split mono's the car went a 1.37 60'...but since I race a questionable tracks (bad track prep) I decided to ladderbar the car and so far have gone the best of a 1.34 so not much faster but it is more consistant on a dusty track...

I had a transbrake in the car but with the stock rear multi leaf springs and caltracs, I could not use the transbrake due to spinning from the track, but with the split mono's I could use transbrake if the track was pretty good....Now with the ladderbars I have to use the transbrake because the ladderbars like to get hit hard (something I can not do while footbraking)...The picture on my avatar under my name is with the split mono's and caltracts, this was my one of my 1.37 passes.

opppps forgot the tire size I run a 29.5" X 10.5" drag et I also have 3.89 gears and a dynamic converter that goes to 4800rpm against the transbrake

Landrum 250 lb. 4-leaf on mine, with Cal-Trac's and QA1 shocks. 29x10 slick. 3.73 gears. Leaving off idle (foot brake) with a 200-HP nitrous shot produces 1.46-1.49 60' times. Race weight = 3840 lbs. Haven't got the shocks dialed in yet.

10.22 @ 131 on a 200 shot and 10.12 @ 135 on a 250 shot. Only ran the 250 shot once, it was too much for out of the hole (1.58 60'), even on a good hooking track like MIR. Installing a nitrous controller and aiming for 9's this year (with more n2o of course).

Stock 5 leafs on my 79 and pulling 1.44 60's hanging them 3 feet in the air with SSM bars. With c/e 50/50 and moroso trick up front with 90/10 c/e shocks. 29x10 hoosiers. Car weighs 3250 w/driver. My avatar is from norwalk classics. My opinion though. Car goes 10.51 with a mild 474 poncho.

Running the Landrum 250# monoleafs on my '70. 1.79 60-ft times on DOT G15 McCreary dirt tires. 12.1 ETs, 3750# car, no wheel hop, no other traction devices other than a stout rear sway bar. IMO the monoleafs are a huge improvment over stock multileafs on my particular combo. Good bang for the buck.

Many years ago when I put on the CalTracs bars for my '70 TA Landrum recommended 300lb/in rear springs. Since then they seem to be recommending the softer spring like Brian uses and now there is the split Mono that Calvert sells. With the heavy springs my car rides like a truck... don't really like it but I can't bring myself to make any changes. Using 10.5x28 Et Streets or slicks and Comp Engineering drag shocks the car was able to produce a 1.49 60-ft a couple of times with the old motor (no nitrous).
I think the Landrum springs or the Calvert split mono spring seem to be widely used with good sucess.
