Gerg me and Larry picked up the Block this morning had the Block honed deck surfaced and the new sleeve installed where the one was leaking. should be good now, we could see where the leak was behind the sleeve. I am going to start reassembling it tonight and will post som pics Block looks great all fresh and ready. had to order new head gaskets, since we decked the block, needed the extra clearance.
we also had to polish the crank, since we did not nitrate it, the crank was a little soft, the bearings did not look the greatest. this time they are usually perfect. after memphis we will pull the crank and have it treated

also got a new part for the ignition you probably know about from columbis, so lets hope for the best if it leaves like it did at columbus, we should go rounds!

Ray says he's got the shortblock together and he may have the engine in the car tonight. He couldn't do it without the help he's been getting from his neighbor, Mike. Mike's been hanging out 'til 1am helping Ray. Mike needs to now come along to the race and wear "the shirt".

The engine is in and they're installing the headers now. Ray says a few more hours and the car will be ready to rock and roll. Then it's getting the trailer ready and on the road by tomorrow evening. Ray technically doesn't have to be there for qualifying until Saturday morning. It's looking like if he simply passes tech he'll have 10th place in points locked in and going rounds will just be a bonus.

Mongo, too funny! I just got off the phone with Ray and yep, they're still working on headers. Ray's helping me plan our Chicago trip. Hopefully their Christina and our Jessica will rule the American Girl Store on Oct. 16th.

Hey Ray! Get off the phone! The people on the board want to hear that engine run!

Ray needs to get there early Friday as they are having a Friday Qualifying session this time.

A lot of cars expected for the last race of the series and with the Extra $5000 to win Stock Suspension class on Radials on TV by Hot Rod Mag. Looks to be a packed house from all the Radial dudes I see are going to show. A bunch from the West Coast (PSCA) and then to Orlando next weekend.
Matter of fact, I see where a lot of dudes that run other classes have cars set to run the DR class. $5000 to win and $2000 R.U. will bring out a lot of Heavy Hitters.
Look for a bunch of 7 second passes on Radial tires. I know of 3 cars that already......... Been there and done that.

Bet is a all 8 second field.

Wish I could make it as I'm really getting depressed now.

Later and Good Luck Ray. Race Hard and Have Fun.
