Default '65 396 Big Block Chev Holley Carb

I rebuilt the stock Holley carb from my buddy's '65 325 HP 396. All went well except for three items:

1. Below is a picture of a small spring I have left over. I suspected it may have been from the accelerator pump nozzle needle valve in the air horn, but it will not fit under the screw that holds the nozzle assy. in place. Anybody know where it belongs?

2. There is a rubber cover for the front fuel bowl vent hole that's operated by a rod from the throttle linkage. The rebuild kit does not include this cover like the Rochester carb kits do. The rubber cover has a much smaller "tit" on it than the Rochester carbs have. Anybody know where I can get one of these?

3. The rubber grommet that the throttle rod attaches to the carb is rotten and also not included in the rebuild kit. The plastic insert is OK. This grommet is common to nearly all Chev V8's from the '60's and beyond. Any ideas on where to get these?

Thanks, Ron. Chris has the parts I need for the Holley and after a long conversation, I'm going to supply linkage for a SBC tricarb setup he's building for a customer. He wanted "Pontiac style" linkage, which is what I'll send.

His phone number is changed. It's now 937-890-0970 in Dayton, OH.

Glad I could put "good folk" together...works out for all involved. I'll file his number...haven't talked with him for awhile. Thanks. Take care and good luck. Ron
