Opinions Please...
Should I paint my aluminum heads to match the look of what a SD engine looked like in the day? I have already changed to stock painted valve covers and spacers because these did not really clear the master cylinder.
Thoughts?

Spartazoo, I would leave the aluminum showing- The paint chips every time you go to work on the top end. Aluminum does not paint well either. JMO

If it were me, I would paint them, but I would also paint the pulleys (not engine color but black. Either go one way or the other.

decision has been made...engine will be finished to look like a "right" SD. Valve covers have been ordered, I am tracking down a alternator bracket, will be either painting or coating the pullys, and painting the heads.
I spent a ton of time and effort to find a matching set of "correct" appearing carbs so that I could use the correct fuel lines, I might as well finish it that way. Thanks for the input. PS. see Tom in the end I am not that cheap...LOL
