Default Need pictures of certain Pontiac tri-power air cleaners

Trying to come close to completing my reference page of GM tri-power air cleaners for GM cars (Cadillac, Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, and Pontiac) using Rochester carburetors.

Looking for pictures of unmolested units for a perpetual reference.

I need the following:

1958 Pontiac - both the standard air cleaner, and the one with the air suspension pump fitting. I let mine get away without taking pictures

1964 and 1965 Pontiac - there are a BUNCH of different air cleaners in these years. Anything would help. Specifically 389 or 421 federal, and 389 or 421 California.

I have been told that in 1965, the difference between the 389 and 421 units was the 421 lids were chromed; and of course the California versions would have an extra fitting.

I need:

Top picture of the complete air cleaner

Top picture of the lower section with the lid off, showing the relationship of the centerline of the carburetors to the snorkel clocking.

A picture of the underside of the lower section showing the dimples, and especially the California smog fittings.

600 dpi is fine, but I can reduce higher resolutions.

Here is what I currently have:

https://www.thecarburetorshop.com/Tr...r_cleaners.htm

I still have about 25 to look at, and maybe do better pictures, but I know my 1958's are gone; and California air cleaners are pretty scarce in Missouri. Don't think I have any of the ones for which I asked.

EDIT: I could also use pictures of ORIGINAL, NOT REPRO, 1958 Chevrolet (both), and 1966 Olds, both standard and W-30

Thanks in advance.

Jon

Those look like 1959~1960 with the fitting for the air suspension pump.

Bringing this back to the top; if you can PLEASE help.

This is for a reference web page.

Looking for ORIGINAL OWNERS or owners that KNOW beyond the shadow of a doubt that their air cleaner is as original.

Need the following pictures of each of the 8 different large car tripower air cleaners from 1964 and 1965 (4 each year):

(1) a picture looking straight down on the top of the complete air cleaner
(2) a picture looking straight down on the top of the air cleaner with the lid removed
(3) a picture looking straight down on the UNDERSIDE of the air cleaner
(4) a picture of the decal or silk screened service information

THE EXACT APPLICATION (i.e. 1965 California 389, 1965 Federal 421, etc.

Also, need to know exactly which applications (if any) came with chrome lids

Also, there is a "421 HO" semi-circular decal for the lid in the aftermarket. I was under the impression the 421 HO units came with the pie pan GTO individual cleaners; any thoughts by original owners?

Here is a link to the current file:

https://www.thecarburetorshop.com/Tr...r_cleaners.htm

Please note it is ALMOST complete except for the 1964 and 1965 Pontiac units.

One final request:

Some 25 years ago, a very knowledgable vendor "teased" me about a large air cleaner for the 1966 tripower (all large carburetors). He supposedly had two, but never sent pictures. Supposedly from highway patrol engines. I have searched for at least 25 years trying to find ANY documentation, and I cannot! Beginning to wonder if what he had were the 1966 Olds non-W-30 air cleaners. Any thoughts?

I realize what I am asking in pictures requires removing the air cleaners, but again, this is for an internet reference.

Thanks in advance

Jon.
