Each of my 67's have the optional 8 track deck that hangs from the lower dash panel. The rubber seal between the 8 track bracket or those with consoles and dash is old and brittle, any ideas what i can use to replace or who would carry the rubber channel material?

I haven't seen the rubber seal for the full size or intermediates reproduced. For my 67 GTO, the faceplate has a groove which can accommodate a square cut rubber belt. I cut one to fit in the groove using the gasket from an oil filter and it works fine to cushion the edge against the dash. In your case, the groove is deeper (9.75"x0.5") The oil filter gasket is 0.25" so you'll need two. The full size groove is beveled which will allow the seal to be above the edge. I would love to see your original.

Here's a few pics of the original U Channel seal. I would guess perhaps over the years the rubber U channel has struck a bit. From my measurements the U Channels higher side measures about .18 with the lower side slightly less, not certain why the 2 sides are different. Perhaps when it was new, that was not the case. I wasn't able to measure the inside channel width as my micrometer is too large. My guess 1/8".

Thanks for the photos. It makes sense that the full size is thinner. Most players I've seen installed had their rubber seal removed and never reinstalled or replaced. Judges also notice this and deduct points if it's missing. This participant had 2 points taken for " 1966 RADIO/ NO 8 -TRACK GASKET". Talk about strict!

Wow that's good to know, but then i have only entered into the survivors classes where they are not as particular. I measured the hanging bracket thickness which is around 1/16" . I found the following U channeling on eBay and ordered one meter of the flat angle type (1.5/2mm x 5mm x 11mm) for 6 bucks. I think it will work otherwise I keep trying.

I have a side question. Did you ever have to change your 8-track belt and if so, what size did you use? The belt that I picked is a PRB round belt OA14.8 which provides good tension without excessively loading the motor; however, it stretches over time (~ two years) and falls off which is annoying.

I have replaced the belts on both players that i have, i have to look where i ordered them last time and get back to you.
