National Parts Depot Drum-to-Disc Conversion - any experience with this product?
Stopped in a parts store in the area, was scoping out the 'scratch and dent' aisle and saw an NPD X-, F-, A-body drum to power disc conversion kit marked way down.
Said to have a possible 'sticking caliper' which I'm guessing could be diagnosed without a lot of trouble. Final sale, though - no returns. Any experience with the kit? Is this just another vendor product remarketed and marked up thru NPD? Assume it is a common caliper that could just be switched out for a fresh one through the lcoal auto parts store. Wouldn't mind saving the $$$ to apply elsewhere, but, not if it is a whole lot of heartache. |

All of these kits use the same parts. factory style single piston calipers with 11" factory style discs. They are basically what you would have found on a 69 Z28. The only thing the companies make themselves are typically the caliper brackets.
If it has a sticking caliper you may need to buy a new one if you can't get it to unstick. Depending on the markdown on the kit, it may still be a good deal even knowing that.
