Default '63 V8 Conversion - Need Measurements

Hello - I am converting my 4-cylinder Tempest to a Pontiac V8. I'm not using a factory crossmember, so I need to fabricate the engine mounts. I'm hoping someone can provide some measurements to help position the engine. Specifically, I'd like to know the distance from the rear bellhousing flange to the firewall. Also, any measurements showing height of the block would be very helpful as well. Please see the attached picture showing where the measurement is taken from.

Thanks in advance!

In my case, I'm using a Mustang II crossmember and suspension, so there is nothing at all for me to start from. I realize I can essentially place the engine wherever I want, but would like to get it close.

What rear end are you going to use?Get it in where it belongs and that will help you line the engine up to have the right position to have a pretty straight shot to the crank center line?I used a 57-58 big car 9.3.I can take pics of mine, its on the lift now if any of that would help.I actually copied the late Dave Johnson from the old White Warrior days.Tom

I'm planning to use a '92 Z32 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo complete rear IRS subframe. The pinion is dead center. The diff and axles are quite beefy with over 9" ring gear and viscous limited slip with 3.69 gears.

I'm mostly concerned about front-to-back position to allow decent bellhousing access without cramping the radiator.

What are most people using for the transmission crossmember?

I know some people use a first gen complete floor to give them the tunnel and bell clearance.A little warning, the unibody rail in the back are pretty thin.Be aware attaching anything to them.We mounted a pan hard bar bracket and it ripped out.We had to weld a 1/4 in still plate to the rail to support the bar.Tom

Can anyone tell me the engine slope angle relative to the front frame rails? The engine angle could be measured from a valve cover - front to back. Same with the frame rail from inside the engine compartment.
