A reminder to all posters in this thread:
Please provide the 3 pieces of info requested in the original post, otherwise this archive thread that was started to help others see what fits and what doesn't starts to become useless. I see a lot of combos posted here that don't have any wheel backspacing info provided. This info is very important, you need to provide it to show what will work on the cars of other members looking in here to help them decide what to do for their own car. Please post pics and info gathered from your own car. |

71 Firebird...New wheels/Tires
I am going to attempt to attach some pics before and after the new wheels and tires. The new wheels are American Racing T71R. Fronts are 17x8 with 4" BS. Rear are 17x9 with 5" BS. Tires are Nitto 555. Fronts are 255/45/17 and rear are 285/40/17. They fit with no issues. I am stoked at how they look on the car.

No problem Kell..I should also mention that I have enough clearance on the inside of the rear tires to fit a 10" wheel with 6" backspace.

T70R's
Here is my '65 Tempest project, with the ultimate set of wheels and tires.
The wheels are American Racing T70R's with billet 200S caps. They are 15x7 with a 4 inch backspace in the front, the rear wheels were 15x8, they have been widened in the backsides by Weldcraft Wheels to 15x9 and now have a 5 inch backspacing and zero offset. The tires are BFG T/A Radials, 215-65-15 in the front, and 275-60-15 in the rear. The car sits a couple of inches above stock, I used '66 GTO springs CS5244 front and CS5235 rear. The original rear end is in the car. There are no clearance problems. |
