I just found this out yesterday. I did some searching for Jerry Bolton (c5farmer), the starter of this thread. He passed away in August of 2023.

I did not know him, but conversed with him, finding out that we have the same last name, via PM's here. I did get to talk to him once, around 2017. The town he lived in or near is in Eastern Iowa. I am from Eastern Iowa also. His close and distant relatives are not known members of my family..I hope to talk to his wife, some day soon.

I will start a new thread concerning this, since his interests were early Tempests.
Jeff Bolton

Jerry was a genuine salt-of-the-earth kind of person you'd want as your friend or neighbor.

He was very resourceful and helpful. He rebuilt my '62 Tempest pitman arm in brass almost 10 years ago. He wanted so little money for the job, I nearly fell over when he finally told me..

Rest in Peace, Jerry.

I need to pull my 4cyl to replace a bad original rear main rope seal. Currently have a BOP Viton 2 piece seal sitting on my desk Would prefer to use the 1pc but I don't want to remove the crank.

Also have a leaky manual steering box which I need to re-seal.
