Default 70 455 RA Vert 4 speed on BAT

I was watching this car. Seems to be a well known PYO car. Restored by a member and sold a few times.

BAT and 120 comments about it, and the talk may have hurt its value with a no sale.

The guy who was high bidder this time - was second highest bidder last time when it went 110k.
Maybe he can close a deal after the fact.

Pretty much the same topics in this auction as its previous auction.

High bidder was the guy that owns a towing business and auto shop right down the road from me.

I wasn’t aware it was on BAT before. So, I did a little search.

I guess it has an interesting history.

It was bone-headed to ever pull that stunt on a well known GTO in the Pontiac community.
With it being 1 of only 2 known left in existence it wasn't some unknown commodity.

Car already had national exposure when it was sold as a fully disassembled project on eBay with the unstamped VIN block/trans.
Forrest bought it (high bidder)
Then it got more exposure after he restored it - and sold it on eBay.

There is even a thread on here somewhere from where it was originally on eBay as a project.

A 71 TA was very recently offered on BaT that had unstamped VIN block/trans.
I'm expecting it to resurface someday with matching VIN's.

I agree with BVZ. This rare and very cool car shouldn't be an asterisk car…

Not sure how many hands it been thru in the years since Forrest restored it.

The BAT says 1600Veloce sold it to Wagen59 in 2022 for 110k and the latest says 1600Veloce got it back? And only bid to 73k.

Does that say there’s a buy it back situation. Something’s up…

When it sold for 110k it was titled in one state.
This time it was titled in another state - so that sale was most likely real.
The 110k buyer has extensive history of buying higher priced cars in the past on BaT.
Like a stamp collection.

The seller 1600veloce handles a lot of upscale cars.
I'm just guessing that wagen59 traded it back towards another more expensive/exotic car.

1600veloce was also the seller of the creampuff IrisMist/Plum Interior 65 GP recently.
