Lemme "lay hands on" those POA valves, Larry, as my parts inventory doc is quite a few years old, and I may not have it up to date. Plus, I'm gonna keep at least one for my own use.

I'll try to run them down today or tomorrow.

Not that I'm in the market, just curious, Steve. What're you asking for your awesome hemi car anyway?

Lloyd, I have a 553 POA unit leftover from my old 69 Pace Car Camaro, if you want to trade? It fits all the other applications like chevies, etc., and everything the 554 wasn't used for.

I'm sure that you meant a 593 POA valve, correct?

I don't have any use for an early F-body or A-body POA valve at this time, Steve, but we might could work something out.

Yeah......I like those figures.
1 is much more desirable than a 1/2....

Lloyd is my official press consultant. :-)

Officially, it's a 1970 Hemi Charger R/T-SE 4-speed. The only red one of 16 produced. 17,000 miles. I've owned it 25+ years.

Here's the scary, haunted Charger story that follows it from day one to the present. Just try reading through the 25 pages without the hair standing up on the back of your neck.

http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/ubbt...7973#Post77973

The same thing that is starting to happen with the black Formula (collecting old stories) has happened consistently through 25 years of me owning that Charger. It also doesn't hurt that I now live 15 miles from where the hemi was sold new in 1970.

Steve, if you ever get to speak to the original owner of your car, assuming he's on the right side of the sod, will you ask him if the 455HO sticker was on the air cleaner lid from day 1? I see it on the pic you posted from the 80's, and I'm always curious to find out if it's possible some of these cars left the factory with them.

I wondered about that exact issue myself, when I first saw that photo. That was a picture of the car when it arrived in British Columbia after beng sold by the original owner. There is quite a bit of original patina in that photo - original engine paint, greasy engine, rusty master cylinder, factory emission hoses and the flaking paint on the air cleaner, along with the faded air cleaner lid decal. All maintenance on the car was done by the dealer from 1972 to 1985, so it is doubtful the original owner did anything to the engine compartment himself.

What is the general consensus on the decal on F-bodies?

Some info on it from post 888 on down the page, seems like the conscensus is that they weren't supposed to come with the decal. If that's the case, it sure seems that a lot of dealers or original owners thought they were supposed to be there and added them early on.
Personally, I like the decal and think these giant black breathers looks kind of bare without them.

FWIW: The 455 HO sticker was very cool back in the day. My "almost first car" memories of a local 71 4 speed 455 HO RA Lucy Blue formula had it under the hood. It still haunts me that I didn't buy it!

Steve, that Black one is awesome, and brings back good memories!!

When I bought my 72 T/A in 1980, there was a 72 forumla 455 a "tourist" owned with 21k roughly miles in the body shop for some fender scape. I remember pulling in my car next to it to compare the engines. This cars air cleaner had a decal and I doubt the newly retired owner put it on. I asked our parts guy who arrived in 1970, and he never ordered them. Not a big dealer though, and not a common car. This one was Green, 43 I think, Ivory interior.

We will have to give George Zapora a call and get their database cross reference corrected. K65 should be unitized ignition, a required option on the Formulas. Only in recent years did that code become an alternator code. Any idea what year that document is?

Does anyone have a code showing for the compact spare on their PHS? I thought that was an option. It doesn't show on my car's records, but it obviously came with the inflatable spare originally as evidenced by the location of the hold down bracket. Maybe it was part of the Y99 handling package, or the 15" honeycombs when you ordered a Formula???
