Default Paint question-again

Does anyone have pics of their 68 painted in black single stage? (starlight)

I’ve asked about differences single vs bc/cc before but I’m torn on this. My body work is almost done and I need to pick up the paint.

I’ve never had a single stage done but I’m leaning that way.

Love SStage in solid colors . Just Put down 4 good coats..then you have enough mils (thickness) to wet sand and buff. Also ...if after 3 coats and it’s not looking too smooth....put the gun down, and clean it. Come back in 2 days and wet sand with 600 on a block ...but don’t go through....and then apply another 2 coats. Then after 2 days you can cut the paint with 1000 if there I s not much orange peel....then 1500, 2000, and finish with 3000.... then buff till yah arms fall off. All this work will not make your paint look “Fat”

Absolutely love single stage in non metallic colors. Would definitely recommend it. Much richer color

I painted my 69 GTO in single stage and the 69 Firebird in base/clear.

Even though the Firebird looks great, it is too shiny for the period correct look.

The GTO looks fantastic, so I will always go with single stage for this era of muscle cars...btw, mine are all stock originals with no modifications.

However, if your is somewhat or highly modified, base/clear may be a better choice if you so desire.

It's your car so do what you want

Sweet looking Firebird! Thx for the pics, I’m sold on single stage. Mine is factory black with red interior. It came with white vinyl top but doing black like yours.

Here's my old 69 vert in PPG Concept single stage black. I agree with all the posts, single stage is my favorite for solid colors

Well shucks, I already bought a gallon of starlight black for my 62 cat in BC/CC. Making me rethink my decision now.
