Switch on right was used for "fog" lights we found out , wires were cut but indicated it was used for that purpose.

Actually a pretty clean solution for that - sure beats the toggle switch in the panel under the steering column!

But isn't the electric grid defog switch a momentary switch, meaning it would shut off after a while?

Bruce, that same set up would be found on a 1968-1969 Buick Skylark/ GS. Same motor, same location, same plastic elbow, same exhaust vent....FWIW...

HFR, the ones I have had had a separate timer in the harness for a shut off timer
