1972 Formula 455 HO For Sale
Here it is. Interesting car with bad interior color selection. Would be nice to see the PHS.

white or black interior would have wowed, eh? it is a great car with it's "different flavor" aspect that makes Form's so cool....

No underside pics.. I would want rear frame pics and trunk pics before I even picked up a phone.

Cars out here on the west coast usually don't have rust in the frame... So most folks don't think about posting pics of those areas as its just assumed to be solid..... But when dealing with 40 year old cars that have been passed around from coast to coast...buyer beware...

I've asked for PHS, window sticker and additional photos. If I get them I'll post them up. The car does have the Buick air cleaner sticker which is a little concerning.

Bob,
You had me worried there for a minute when I read the thread title and saw your name as OP. I thought I was going to see a black on black car for sale! Whew! I'm glad it isn't your car. I wonder if those are repop KR's on the Yellow Bird? It is nice looking and well optioned, but have to agree with the color of the interior not being ideal, but different. Dennis |

Yeah, I like to do that every now and then just to shake things up. I've got a short list of folks that will get a call before a posting like that ever makes the forum.

Here's a copy of the window sticker. I thought unitzed ignition was standard for 455 HO in 1972 except for TA?

Yeah, and no cost options listed on window sticker too.
But, never saw a window sticker before for F body? Seen a 72 A body and its a bit different... Not sure about the brackets on air cleaner for formula. Thought it was studs without brackets?

The unitized ignition was a mandatory option on the 455HO Formula in 1972. It may have been included in the price of the engine. All I had on the black car was the PHS which had K65 Transistorized Ignition one there. Anyone have an original window sticker for another 72 Formula 455HO to compare?

Ram Air was a mandatory option as well in 72 - must have just listed them separately.
You had me worried again Bob!

Don't have a real window sticker. But, an old PHS invoice. List the unitized as a 77 dollar cost.
Just looking at vin too: is that an early one mine is 520xxx and a 12/15/71. That one is 504xxx and prices are listed higher than mine by a few bucks too. If mandatory on 72 455 HO and not listed and is a x code it must be missed...

Cool color combo and option package less a/c and t400. Quit a few things changed and or missing from that rare cowl seal to the fan shroud being a re-pop. Maybe had a little fender bender in its day?
Regardless that color combo and strip definitely have some bling. |

as said above, on '72 Formula 455HO's, the unitized ignition and ram air were required options and they should always show up as individual added cost options.

Does the MSRP total $5651.72 on the PHS match the total on the window sticker (which is cut off)?

That's interesting that you have a different copy than what he sent me. I'm still waiting on underbody and trunk pictures, but then I am also still waiting for the PHS. I think he likes you better. You got any other pictures or info, or have you emptied your pockets?
Are you going to make a run at buying the car? |

Brown Pontiac in Arlington, VA. More 455 HO Formulas were sold new at various dealers in the region than I would have expected.
I grew up in Northern Va, and relatively speaking, it's not "car lover country"... so I'm always surprised to see another one from the area turn up. Cool car.
