Default 71 Trans Am (clone) for sale here locally.

Thought I'd pass this on. This car seems nice, looks good in the pictures. I haven't looked at it in person "yet." Nice looking Trans Am clone, No? Link> http://www.ksl.com/auto/listing/2062805?ad_cid=1

Looks like a nice car. That is a lot of money IMO for a 223 vin Firebird.

I contacted the owner. I'm going to go look at it later today. Ill get some pictures. That is what I was thinking, that is a lot of $$ for a clone. I'll hit him on what is low dollar for the car....

The price seems high for a clone, but then again the pricing for real T/A's are going up.

Seeing these clones going up makes me happy!

Subbed

I'd like to see more pix of this car

Get some details on the motor/drivetrain build if you could please.

I just got back from looking this car over. Oh boy. It has a very nice new interior, and nice 15x8" rally 2's, new bfg's, decent running X4 400 with 6X heads, Q jet carb, stock manifolds, has the functional ram air scoop but not hooked up, a new rebuilt Muncie 4 speed trans, the stock 10 bolt rear.
IMO, its no where near worth the price he is asking. To make the car a decent driver clone it will need door hinges both sides, window regulators both sides, a complete body alignment (nose, fenders, doors, hood, trunk lid) and a complete repaint. whomever did the body and paint the last time did a sloppy job and missed a lot of issues. I can tell the right quarter panel has some body filler in it that wasn't massaged quite right, the left front fender has a crack in the sheet medal right where the nose meets, the door gaps show signs of hitting each other (painted over chips), the drivers side door hinges are so sloppy that the inner door jam sill plate shows evidence of the door hitting it. On the good side, the body doesn't have any rust issues where the rear frame mates to the floor pan. But who knows, its one of those cars where if a decent shop or builder got ahold of it and tore into it, how many surprises with be found? I will post up some pictures here shortly.

I dont care for the rear sitting up that high. I bet hes got 20K in that car anyway. The hood pins would have to go too. I bet it can easily get 25K as is though.. "Subjective" means more now than it ever did in the older car market.
