Default 1970 Super Bowl GTO Commercial

Good day! I would like to point out that in 1970, the famed VOE GTO commercial ran while the KC Chiefs were on their way to winning the Super Bowl. Here we are 50 years later and the Chiefs again were in and won the Super Bowl. And, to top it off, that GTO from the commercial has been found and is in a restoration phase and it will rumble once again.

Yep,,,alot of youngsters today walk around with their skinny jeans, bright colored clothes and haircuts that belong on a cupie doll. Wouldn't know what to do if they got a flat tire except call AAA. Im impressed...ignorant comments.. I think that commercial is cool.

I have had the commercial on a tape from Pontiac for about 40 years. I didn't get to see it air live, as I was about 10,000 miles away.

Pontiac had many really neat commercials. The Bonnie & Clyde GTO commercial is my favorite.

Having been fortunate to catch the very tail end of the muscle car era, that commercial just brings smiles and great memories. Like most cities, we had our Big Boy drive in, looked just like the one in the commercial, roll through with loud exhaust, even open headers sometimes, choose your race, slowly pull out and head to one of several street race sites. Three within 5 miles of the Big Boy. Run your race, (s), go back for more. Repeat every weekend all spring/summer/fall. Some nights we would have 20-25 races. A car that could run solidly in the mid 13's was the absolute king in those days. Most muscle cars in typical street trim would crack into the high 14's if they were lucky. Good times! BTW, the hood on the 70 GTO may have well been down in typical factory fit for the day. The 68-72 A bodies had all kinds of factory fit issues. We didn't worry about it because no matter how bad they were, they were light years better than any of the Mopars!

Keep in mind that in the 60s and 70s we wouldn't be caught dead wearing our father's "trousers" or his hair cut. I'm 60 and I don't dress like my dad
