49rs offense went through the Chiefs like they been paid to let passes be caught. Near-sack turned interception looked more real for young kids playing. 7-3 Chiefs. Seen enough. Hey might be a good game.

Well snuck out of the upstairs Movie room and went to the downstairs 4K curvy TV room, got the wifey and we went home (snuck out as we say). Nice time, butt hay rather walk the dog and read a good book.

SF Niners got their a**es handed to them. Too bad because I was rooting for them.

just great play-calling by shanahan with team up 20-10 at half-way through the 4th. even better (worse) before the half, no time-outs called when they had 3 timeouts remaining. Just f***ing marvelous!!!!!

Mahomes wasn't even on his game. Can you imagine if he was?

I’m always puzzled by “our o-line isn’t giving the QB any time. Let’s call some plays that have him standing in the pocket.”

That was strange clock management by both sides at the end of the first half.

He was a major part of the Falcons second half collapse in SB-LI. Not all his fault but he contributed. I heard on the radio this morning that the top two comeback/collapses...dependent on what side of it you're on....in SB history was Atlanta/NE and KC/SF. Guess who was on the sideline of both losing teams....?
On one hand it's impressive that someone his age and time in the league as already been to two SBs but still...
Congrats the the Chiefs and Andy Reid on an impressive performance.
EDIT- I just checked and there have been three other SBs with 10 point deficit comebacks...so not exactly accurate above.

I guess you could say things did not "pan" out for the 49'rs.

Can someone explain to me the 49'r logic behind declining to receive the kickoff at the start of the game? It seems counterintuitive to give the opposing team an opportunity to start the game 7 points up and play catch up.

A lot of times, especially when a team feels that they have a strong defense, they will decline to receive the opening kick-off. Their thinking is, if they can stop the opponent on the first drive because of a good defense, they basically have a chance to score first in both half's of the game. I think San Fran actually stopped KC on a 3 and out on the first drive.

Many teams see an advantage in getting the ball first to start the second half. It makes the halftime speech much more optimistic: “we get the ball to start the second half. Let’s go out there and put ‘em away/ start our comeback.”

I watch a lot of college football. In the games I see, the winner of the toss Usually defers.

Great game, and congrats to the Chiefs. Didn't expect that last touchdown, though.

My team was embarrassed again in the playoffs!! So I really had 'no dog in the fight'. I was kinda leaning towards SF, but certainly am not disappointed that the Chiefs won. It was a good game. I love football and could watch every game on sundays if possible, its nice to watch and not get stressed out. In an odd sort of way I am kinda glad my team didn't get there.

I was cheering for the Chiefs since Andy Reid was the Eagles old coach and same with Spagnola as the defensive coordinator. There are a few old Eagles players as coaches,Chiefs are basically the Eagles in disguise lol. The 49ers had an amazing running game all season and should have relied on it more when they were up 20 to 10 but instead tried passing more. Mahomes is just a great quarterback and it amazes me that some teams passed on him in the draft. It just goes to show that all the things they make athletes do at the combine you can not judge heart. Tom Brady and Mahomes are prime examples of that.
