Got my vote also. Been getting Hemmings Muscle Car Mag for years. Just getting a car in the magazine is quite the honor. Hope you win.

Won't vote on a car just because it's a Pontiac. In my eyes, what a boring list of cars and their colors.

This is tough. The '78 Black and Gold Macho T/A is extremely deserving of this award too...

Thanks! I just got an email from Enrico and his wife Lenora out in Scottsdale where they live. To say he is excited would be an understatement. He said he is "rallying the troops" at this very moment. Being a vet and a member of the Greatest Generation, he means that is a quite literal sense. What a guy.

I can't wait to finally meet him in Chicago this November after talking and emailing him for two years now. He and Lenora don't have any children so they have in effect, adopted our family. He gives a lot of wrestling advice to me to pass on to my teenaged son who "wrassles" in the 106 lb class. Only Enrico was in the unlimited heavy weight class back in his day.

Enrico is a former master mechanic and was a record-holding power boat racer in the 1960's. I believe he still holds the time record for circumnavigating Long Island in a single engine powerboat. He owned a chain of dyno tuning shops in Scottsdale, AZ back in the day. That is where the "TUNEUP" vanity plate came from. It was on the car when he had it in 1973. He sent it to me along with the original, zero-mile steering wheel that he replaced with a Formula wheel right after he bought the car in '73. He had them stored all these years, hanging on the wall.

I had to choose between the Firebird and the Macho but since my brother's name was associated with the Macho, I went with it. Sorry!
