Default '55 - '60 chin mount bracket for front motor mount

I need the stamped steel bracket that goes between the timing chain cover and the front motor mount on a 1955 through 1960 Pontiac V-8. I haven't been able to find a good used one. Does any reproduction parts house sell this bracket?

Thanks,

Jerry Bramlett

No aftermarket part available that I know of. 55 thru 59 GMC trucks with a V8 engine use the same part, but there were less of those made than Pontiacs.

Do you have a broken one, or is it missing all together? Mine was cracked so I repaired/rebuilt it and re-enforced it in the process. As you stated it is just steel so can be welded as long as you have something to start with. Now I wish I would have taken pics of mine before installing. I also had to rebuild my rubber isolation pad using 3M 5200.

I don't have one at all.

I do have a great photo of a bracket from a current ebay auction: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1955-58-Pon...4383.l4275.c10 Unfortunately, that seller hasn't responded to my request to buy the bracket separate from the other parts he's selling (that I don't need).

I've got a repaired one that's not for sale. If you want one to copy, you could borrow mine.

Thanks for the offer, Jack. I'm still hoping it doesn't come to fabrication. If necessary, I'll buy the parts lot on eBay and sell off the stuff I don't need.

Old GMC school buses also used the Pontiac motor so if you see one take a look.

Default Rubber isolator mount

Is $56 including shipping a fair price, or should I keep looking? The local auto parts store says they can't get one for me.

That guy has been selling the front mount for the same $44 + shipping for years. Best price I've seen.

I suspect that is Kanter? Maybe I will order up a spare if that is a good price.
