Default '62 GP air

I am trying to get the factory air back together on my GP. All parts are either new or rebuilt and I ran into a problem assembling them. I got new hoses and they will not fit on the muffler OR condenser fittings. (believe me, I have tried EVERYTHING). I have called so many places and talked to a lot of folks about this, but no one can give me a straight answer. The two hose sizes I got are 13/32" and 1/2". I can't get the 13/32" hoses on the muffler or the condenser and the 1/2" one is too big. Apparently they don't make a 7/16" hose, which seems to be the one I need. As a last resort, I am going to have to cut the fittings off the muffler and condenser and weld on the ones that I got in the rebuild kit. First of all, is that a viable option, and second, any other ideas?
