My '89 bonneville 3.8 engine crankshaft sensor keeps getting torn up and service engine soon light comes on. How does this happen and are there any suggestions for a fix?

Check your harmonic balancer,it MAY be coming apart.

There is a special tool to align the old style
crank sensors, its actually an air gap tool
Must be used or the crank sensro will be destryoed
