I'm restoring the radiator support and grills on a 67 Tempest Custom. I fixed all the cracks and fractured areas, now I'm ready to repaint. Where these silver, aluminum or light grey color? Semigloss, satin or flat? All the pics I see seem to be flat silver or aluminum surrounds and black inset grill. Also were there front turn signals attached and are they the same as the GTO?

Well I guess I'll have to wing it on this one. I'd hate to have to remove and repaint these!

I can't say for sure on the Fat Firebirds like your's But on my 67 Firebird, the grill outter flat section is an Argent Silver, then the inner edge of the grill is a silver stripe, then the grill section is charcole or flat Black.

On the 68's (Firebirds) the grill outter flat sections were a charcoal, the silver stripe and then Black for the grill. And on the birds they have the silver center bar or the chrome Hockey sticks.

Maybe some of this is the same for the A Bodies too?

Good luck!

There are no turn signals in the 67 Lemans/Tempest grills.

The surround is argent silver, the grill is a 0 degree black, and the leading edges of the grill face is silver.

Thanks. Nice photo. I haven't seen too may straight on front view photo's of Lemans or Tempest. I'll look of that color or whatever is closest to it. I think the reference to zero degree ° seen in books is its percent %. Although there is no reference stated I'm assuming Flat(0°),satin(0-under60°),semigloss(60°) and gloss(100°)?
