Default Norwalk

Great few days at Norwalk- now headed back to TX….

Swap meet was great- finally picked up a 58 Tri Power air cleaner for the Bonneville and grabbed a set of red anodized valve covers.

Pit area was amazing as always! I saw several female drivers and am glad to see our hobby expanding.

I was surprised at the show field- great selection as expected, but a few changes. Many 04-06 GTO’s. Maybe our group is finally coming around?

No Can Am’s (except a cool black one), no 10th Anniversary cars, I’m not even sure if I saw a black and gold 77-81 TA?

I’m thinking that the 2nd Gen guys may have chosen the TA Nats over Norwalk.

Lots of 69-77 Grand Prix’. More than I remember seeing

If your still at the event. Please stop by on the show side of the track and say hi to Arnie Beswick. He is 93 years old this year. How many more chances will you have to spend a little time with a living legend of drag racing, still sharp with great stories to tell. No longer driving, Arnie lives for his time at the track with his Pontiac friends. You won't be sorry.

I drove down just for the morning today. Great turnout, beautiful weather. The Super Duty tent was awesome, and I really liked the OHC-6 display as well.
Lots of great cars on the show side - my favorite was a heavily patina'd original 421 tripower wagon with 8-lugs, buckets/console, etc.

As noted above, definitely fewer 2nd gen birds. I did not see a single '70-'72 T/A there.

I will upload a few pics later once I get off the plane. Went to see Beswick and there were several kids wanting his autograph so we let them have their time. I remember being that kid meeting him for the first time in ‘94!

I saw a little guy cruise by in a 67 go cart last night just before dark. Kid was grinning ear to ear. It was really great to see!

There was a Blue 71 T/A that showed up Saturday.

Anyone happen to know what the final qualifying times and speeds were for the frantic 4? I am assuming they were the fastest cars on the property this weekend? Could be wrong. Just curious. Thanks.

Here are a few pictures I took at Norwalk. The Super Duty collection display was awesome, the Summit Motorsports Park and its people were awesome. I delivered the Tri-Power I built for Arnie Beswick's '65 Catalina. The 500 swap spots were all sold, with Pontiac parts galore--not like some car swap meets where half the items for sale are not car parts.

Norwalk was a really great experience, as it has been every year.
