Default Old guy needs help! --Seattle arera

My wife is battling breast cancer and going through chemotherapy.
I bought an absolutely stripped 1968. LeMans convertible four Speed to restore for her while she is going through this. We are talking two separate. Car trailers One with the car. And one with boxes and boxes of parts that have been pickled away for over 18 years.
Which included A complete 421 tri-power 4-bolt engine. And a complete 400 engine 481988 casting number.
With Edelbrock aluminum 4 barrel intake And has never been bored.

I would like to sell or trade. ? The hood( Perfect) the nose( Not perfect, but could be.) And the complete 400 motor For a GTO nose and Hood.

Any ideas or thoughts on acquiring
Such parts would be greatly appreciated.

x2 on the Mrs.
Welcome !
hello from just an hour south

Scott
I have 2 68 rag tops here at the house ... and a few spare 68 parts ...
I would buy a repro hood
I may have a line on an endura bumper,,,
I would leave the flat hood and chrome bumper tho
4 speed Lemans converts are alot rarer than a 4 speed GTO convert

just me tho ........

Sorry to hear about your wife but keep your chin up. My wife has lung cancer and has been through the chemo and is doing immotherapy for the next year and is hopefully on the mend. Scott T is top notch and knows 68s better the most others around here.

Scott,

Don't have the original motor or trans for the car. So unless it is super rare I don't see the value in trying to get back to stock and all original.

My thought was to use the 4 bolt 421 with tripower fuel injection and a 6-speed.

So the OE thing kind of goes out the door.

Not trying to be a poser, I just think the Endura nose looks nicer, the Chrome is just too much Chrome in one place for me

My father was an engineer for Chevrolet so I am a bit jaded in that department, however if you have any advice for me it would be greatly appreciated

I look forward to meeting and bench racing with you!

the chrome bumper will grow on you ...
mostly after all the work it take to make/prepare most enduras that are not on cars these days
to fit and be paint ready ... then babying the top edge for EVER every time you tinker under the hood...
as they love to crack the paint

go crazy under the hood and suspension ..... leave the chrome if its decent and lines up well..

its been a while since I have seen 14x8 cragars !!!

your dogs make me feel like takin a nap tooooooooooooo
