My clutches and steels came in first so I rebuilt my trany and installed it.

Yesterday I started on the drivers side header. All went well but I need a tighter 2 1/8 90 to get by the steering shaft. Today I will start on the pass. side. Was able to clock the drivers side by just using the 90 ends that were cut off the kits ends. Passenger side will be a bit tighter to clock. I also had to cut out two chassis bars to fit the header and oil pan. They will be relocated when the headers are done. It's tough when you have to wait a week between orders.

Also got ahold of James Monroe to see if my 4" Toilet can keep up. Of course it will not once the larger heads are bought and installed. So a Terminator upgrade is in order. ...Eric.

Just an FYI, but if you are running a diaper instead of a belly pan you might want to put it on before you finish weld.My headers were built years ago and tuck close to the oil pan and even after modifying one side the diaper is still a problem.

I know what you mean. Had issues with my 2" headers. I'm keeping an eye on these tubes. Will be able to slide the diaper in but have to use header wrap on both the diaper and headers. ... Eric.

Thanks for the update on this build, i just ordered some pipe to do mine so this thread is going to come in handy.

I would stay away from the wrap if you can on the headers, have had too many people tell me it will create issues with the pipe rusting. I had to have Dennis at DRE put a couple of patches on my diaper for heat protection and has worked fine.

Passenger side almost done. Need a tighter bend for front cylinder to make it look better. Tight J bends on order. ... Eric.

More.

Had to put some twists in it in order to be able to clock them. Otherwise it would have been easier to run pipes.

Very nice work. You would think with a tube chassis, you would have some room to work with. That is tight!!! Please keep us updated to the end. Do you have an estimate of the time invested so far?

Ya it's tight. Was the first car I did chassis work on. Should have made room for bigger headers. I would know what to do now.

So far I have about 16hrs into it. First set so there was a little screwin' around at first.

Headers are out now. Waiting for parts. Pulled motor to complete assembling block and weld bars back on chassis.
