Default DO 15 x 8 wheels fit a 69 in front w 215/60r15

Trying to determine if 15 x 8 wheels up front on a 69 fb will rub with 215/60R15 TIRES? I know 15x7 fit, but wondered if anyone had tried 15 x8? Backspace on the 15x8 is 4.5", the 15x7 have 4" backspace.

All on a stock suspension.

Ok, answering for those that come after me. On my 1969 firebird convertable 15 x 8 rallye II wheels with a 4.5 backset with 215/60R15 BFG Radial TA"s fit with no issues on lock to lock turns. No rubbing at all on these front mounted tires. If you want to keep white letter tires and a stock look, run these up front and 245/60r15 or 255/60r15 on the rear for a 1.4" drop in front stance.

When you compare the same tire, a 215/60R15 on a 15x7 w 4" backset verses a 15x8 with a 4.5" backset the actual result is a sidewall width increase of 1/2".(even though the wheel is 1" wider.)

Now all I need to do is paint the Wheel Vintiques Rallye II wheels center the correct color. It's hard to believe with a Pontiac specific wheel they cant tell gold from argent grey.
