[QUOTE=pastry_chef;6107286]Pushrod in the port center is the very signature of RA5.
There is minor shifting and major shifting.

.700-.800 offset moved is minor? .....ok

We all need to check in with pastry to see what his max accepted signature pushrod movement is for proper head names...

Seriously, brings up a sorta thread related question.
Has there been a na 1000 Hp ehead with standard pushrod location?

Since you guys brought it up, Krull's 541 made 1022 with Perf RPM e head many years ago. Also we were involved with a Warp 6 headed combo that made over 1150hp n/a and a DCI RAV headed combo that also recently made over 1100hp. Know for certain there are some low key guys out there dedicating lots of resources to make power with traditional Pontiac architecture.
Carry on...

I have a lot of respect for you Jim ... were the warp 6 engines not max effort to only make 1150? Seems like they should crack 1300 as the tiger is close to that....

Jim,
Thanks. The dyno sheet I have is from May 2010. 1021.8 HP @ 6700 RPM

Close is a relative term I suppose... I believe Langer, snyder and Dwight are "well" ( also relative) over 1200.

Pretty sure Baily's Brandywine/Sloclaw E head engine was std port, no offset. It was discussed around 07-08 maybe ? Heads were for sale here awhile back. 2.25 Ti valves I think.
There you have the real "BADDEST STANDARD PORT E HEADS ON THE PLANET!!
I think its amazing really. Slowclaw must know his stuff.

I was actually on the pump yesterday. Didn't make any significant changes to my combo and still made 1290. Now, if I wanted to just brag and puff my chest out I could have iced my intake and fuel, used "hot" fuel, added 1" of plenum to my intake, ran a thinner oil and pulled at 300rpm/sec and would be rewarded with a dyno sheet that shows 1315-1320hp but I don't race my engine like that so there is no point. I could say it was also raining real hard yesterday and that had to hurt me for 15hp but again, I wasn't after a number. If you look at my dyno sheet it shows that I am pulling fuel of a motor that makes 1350hp but the hp number on the sheet doesn't show that. Ultimately all that matters is the number on the big board at the end of the 1320...

John,
Since you didn't post a dyno sheet. What are you see for BSFC?

Scott yes the Warp 6 headed combo i was referring to was for a bracket racer. Congrats to all that have eclipsed the 1000hp milestone...especially with the perf RPM e head.
