66 GTO parking lights mod
I'd like to wire up my front parking lights to where they will stay on when the headlights come on. Has anyone done this on theirs yet? If so, please give me the details.
Thanks, Doug

Doug:
On my 66 I took a 4 inch piece of #12 wire, striped off 1/2 inch on each end and Jumped on the back of the light switch from the brown to the purple connection. Probably won't need that large a wire but it fits snugly and has been in a long time. Good luck. Disconnect your neg, battery cable first. |

thanks for the info...I tried doing a search but couldn't find any info on it. I know a member here has done it because they had a small pic of it posted in their sig line.

Sent you a color PDF via email. Notice the Brown to Purple wire connection at the light switch. Charles |

Charles-
Can you send me that as well. It's a nice mod I'd like to do for my '66 GTO as well. Many thanks.

search turned up info. there are two methods, one jumper at the headlight switch. The other is off the steering column with a jumper into tail lamp circuit. looks like tail lamp jumper is easier to get to than headlight switch one.

I'd be glad to, Winbub...but it says "Sorry! That user has specified that they do not wish to receive emails."
Send me your email address and I will gladly send you my PDF. engineer, I don't believe the park light leads go thru the steering column connector. Charles Last edited by Old Goat 67; 11-17-2006 at 09:43 PM. |

Based on the search, jumper goes from tail lamp circuit into front parking lamp circuit, just not at headlight switch. Easier to get to between the fuse panel and the steering column.

If someone has a picture or sketch showing what needs to be done, could you post it or send me a copy.
I always wanted to do this to my 66. Thank you in advance.
