So do you see the bug.I never seen this before.the engine has the vin with the X.What do you guys think of this. The door sticker has the T ,dash and motor have the X.

Wow, that sucks. Would hate to buy a car and find an issue like that AFTER the sale.

I wonder if the car was built first and then the paperwork was done incorrectly or the paperwork work was done first and the car was built incorrectly. Imagine ordering a Formula 400 4 spd and it shows up as an SD.

So we have:
Same VIN numbers on the dash, engine, door sticker, PHS, except.... 1) The dash and engine have an 'X' 2) PHS, door sticker, and Canadian doc have a 'T' Otherwise, same VIN between the two, only difference being the X and T? Could someone have doctored the dash VIN, and restamped the block? It looks like the dash plate is original in the above photo, but if someone did this back in the 1980's, it could easily have aged this way in the past 20+ years. The only other possibility is a true paperwork error, but I can't see how that could happen. Invoices were created for a 455 car, but the factory built it as an SD car? When the dealer receives the invoice for this car, doesn't hat mean a customer basically gets a free SD engine because it was never billed as an SD? What would be on the window sticker?

I will take pics of the W8 on the block which I saw clearly,i will try to shoot the other numbers next to the waterpump.
I spoke with the owner an he would like to get high 20s for it.If you guys want is phone number let me know by PM..I think this car is worth it,it does need some work but nothing scary.,Im trying to help him sell and also trying to help you guys get all the answers. |
