Thank you Mark. 700 hp is no problem. I'm shooting for 800-900HP now... Remember, My turbo is good for 950 hp or better..... we will see... Once I get the tune right for 25 psi I will be turning up to 30 and so on if it stays together.... I was told this turbo will make 34 psi.....

So let me ask you guys this! What is weaker about a stock 4 cyl crank then a stock 8 cyl crank. Have you ever seen one close up. I bet its just as strong. As for the block compared to a 8 cyl block. If the 8 cyl is being ripped in half by the other bank of cylinders ( just like a tug of war) What is happening with the 4 cylinder ? Nothing like that. It doesn't have an other half to tug at it . With that said, I think the 4 cyl block is stronger, and has more potential to hold more power. I have already made close to 700 hp with it. I have ripped the motor down 4 times already checked the block for cracks and magged the crank . everything checked out fine. No sign of burning the pistons or anything for that matter. The only thing I have broken so far is a 34 element sprag in my turbo 400 hitting second gear ! Ha ha! Are going to tell me it wasn't making power?

63 Banshee, Ever since I started going up on boost you have been posting that I'm going to blow it up. where's the faith ? How about a little support instead of jinxing me...
There are guys out there like Jeff on PZ that make 900 hp with a stock crank and block. I will be finding out this summer who is right..

I will .

It will be a while though because I have to set up this new fuel injection I bought. I'm not going for the higher numbers until I get the tune right with 25 psi. IF, I get it right I will try for the higher boost levels. I never really got it right because with the carburetor I was never able to feed it what it wanted, even though I had dual needle and seat on it. I had 150's in it and it still ran the bowls dry not even half way through second. I figure it was because of the e85 and high boost...

And just so you guys know, I never said I would get the high numbers. I just said I'm going to try....

Don't agree with that claim of doubts, but second order inertial forces are quite impressive in these engines. I've got my own big boost project going on, but wouldn't try it in a stock crank engine. Can't say I fret the block at 900 hp, otherwise I'd have been forced to use an aftermarket block for my build. Just picking the best of my flock and upgrading --

I haven't tried yet. Work has been slow so I've been concentrating on that. I will when it get a chance though.

Its ready to go on now. Next I'm going to weld on a bung to the valley pan so I can check to see what the crank case pressure is....

Here's a comparison picture of the new header and feed pipe to the old on I've been using. I was able to shorten the new feed pipe by 6'. I'm hoping it will spool faster now. If not I will still benefit from this because now the feed pipe is not running around the transmission where it was radiating heat over to it. I also eliminated two 45 degree angles from the mix as well...

I'm also sending the cylinder head out to have a steel inert installed into the center head bolt area to stop the head from collapsing. Maybe after all of this I will be able to finally get some dyno sessions in to see what it makes with the 30 psi I've been running ....

Default 194.5 Build

Hang in there guy ! As I recall Thomas Edison tried hundreds, if not thousands of light bulbs until he got it right. Love to see people pushing technology to the limit with these old motors. Never Give Up !

Its been like that the whole build (hanging by a thread) lol... It is finally starting to come together having the fuel injection an all, but there was a trade off from the carburetor . Its hard to start now. But when its running it does really run nice...

Thank you for your words of inspiration...... you made that hanging thread a little stronger with them ....

I pulled the head today and it turns out that 3 of the bolt holes need to be sleeved. The 2 end ones are actually starting to crack little pieces off at the edges.... I also found that one of the cam lobes is starting to wear out... It never seems to end.....
