My felt inner door window guides are all shot. See pics. Does anyone know of a company that sells either entire reproduction components or the material to refurbish these. I figured that these would have been reproduced by now but I can't seem to find any. Thanks.

I really hate putting this on the PY forum but...these parts are available from The Paddock. They're called "door glass stabilizers".
(Sorry PY) Thanks, Bob |

Thanks for the info!! As they've done all of us a huge favor by sponsoring this board, I always try to give my buisness to PY first.
I wouldn't feel bad about giving out someone elses name in this case. PY doesn't offer the component so buying it from another source isn't taking any business away from PY. If PY decides to offer the part, I'll buy it from them. Thanks again!

Hi, I have the original material GM used to cover these parts with. It was contact cemented in place onto each bracket.
I managed to locate the original supplier of it & bought their remaining stock of yardage a couple years ago. They confirmed to me that GM was the original customer for this type of cloth woven fabric. It was made in several different piles & widths as per the bracket design or it's requirements. If you need some EM me. Peter Serio Owner, Precision Pontiac

Hi Peter,
I tried to e-mail you at the supplied address but my message was returned. Anyways, it sounds like you might have just what I need. As you can see by my picture above, my outter guide has large hole worn in the fabric wheres as the 2 thick piles felt on my outter guides are all crushed and ready to fall off. To do my outter guides I'll need 4 3" wide X 4"long pieces of fabric. To do my inner guides I'll need 4 2" long pieces of thick pile felt. Let me know if you can help and if so how much for the material. Thanks

Hi, here is an example of the material I have available.
Originally GM used probably 8 or 10 different widths &/or pile thickness of material to cover or wrap their various brackets that they used inside of the doors these parts all touched or rubbed up against the glass. The parts needed to be covered to protect the glass from getting all scratched up when you roll your windows up & down. The stuff I have is about a inch wide & comes in feet. It is woven black fabric with a "catwisker" type material interwoven throughout the material which protrudes off of one side, this is the side that would touch the glass. The other side is cemented onto whatever bracket you have with a good grade of contact cement. The material I have my not be an 100% "exact" match to what your parts were originally covered with but it will work fine if properly applied(cemented) on your metal brackets. You would of course first have to remove all of the old material & mark the metal as to what was covered & how it was wrapped. Hope this helps. Pete Peter Serio Owner, Precision Pontiac
