would some one please help, i am about to paint the inside of my trunk for my 70 GTO. what color splatter paint belongs in the trunk of a 70??

Our host sells the correct color. Original parts group Has a full size picture of the can. I believe its GM reconditioning paint Part # 10511499. You can save a few bucks by going to GM Direct.com

There are several trunk spatter paint combos out there. Black with gray, black with green and black with aqua are the three that I know of. A 1970 GTO had black with aqua and, unfortunately, seems like the least likely to be in stock at local parts stores. You can get it from Performance Years.

what color should u start with before applying spatter...i am painting my trunk about 50% black...if the spatter is black with aqua...will the black spatter be seen? should i use grey in the trunk instead of black? I think this car used flat grey instead of black primer first, then laid down the spatter...then clear...looks good

Black with aqua specks is the only correct color for a 1970 GTO trunk.

I achieved best results over black (por - 15) I used gray primer in some areas and the spatter was too light over it.

are u saying the grey primer was good or bad...if we use black / aqua spatter...does it show up on the black primer...i would think the gray primer would be necessary after reading all the posts

just looks that with the gray I was adding another color to the mix (gray,black,aqua).
