Is there anyone that can run a vin to see if this 77 SE I bought new still exist?

I don't know that there is any way to run a national search for a vehicle. Do you know the last state it was titled in? You could start there with a title search.

Every state has different ways of doing things, automobile wise. Some are easy to deal with some have a locked door policy.

It may be more difficult than normal with some state agency's closed down, or partially closed. Call the Alabama transportation folks, keep asking questions.

Another thought is calling an insurance company or two, State Farm, Geico, Allstate..., see if the VIN can be tracked. Tell them your story, if that works out...

I have a 77 se sold from Alaska sales and service in Anchorage.
