Here's a photo of my 70 Formula. It's Lucerne Blue, auto, no a/c. It only has four options: AM radio, tinted glass, power steering, and a console. It came factory with poverty caps.

Here's a photo of it after it was repainted, and the original wheels were installed. It didn't have all of the chrome and embles back on it yet.

Mike
Could you send me a close up PIC of your poverty hub caps? My car came stock with them also and I'd like to know what to look for at the swapmeets.
Thanks, Verdean e-mail: A455HO@aol.com

Verdean,

The car is stored about 150 miles away, where I used to live.

There are two types of poverty caps. One type says "Pontiac Motor Division" in a ring around the center.

The 70 Formula povery caps say "PONTIAC" and "PONTIAC" at 180 degree rotation. I don't know when the change was made, but I have seen a 71 Lemans and my 70 Formula with poverty caps, and both only have PONTIAC on them.

Verdean,

See this Ebay auction. This is the hubcaps that are correct for a 70 Formula.

Here's a photo of the T/A that got it all started.

It was a 70 T/A 4-spd with 3.73 gears. The original block was missing but the rest of the engine was all there. It had headers and glass packs.

This car was a bare bones stripper. It had no console, no tinted glass, and radio delete. The windshield was replaced with a tinted one, as the original was cracked when I bought the car. I believe the options were the performance rear axle, heavy duty radiator, and front license plate mount.

Mike

I owned the car from 1982 - 1985.
