Anyone have a pin out call out diagram for the numbered connector that plugs into the back of the instrument panel gauge cluster? what each number designates?

I happened to just be looking at the gauge cluster printed circuit diagrams. Here is one from the 1975 shop manual.
I think they changed a bit through the years though. |

what wires for alt warning, brake warning?
Here's pics of what I have...…..
I'm needing to know specifically which wires are "alt/battery warning light" and "brake warning light". The car is a 1973 Firebird. no gauges just the warning lights. I'm installing speedhut gauges (no volt gauge) and have 12mm led warning lights I still want to wire up and use for these. little did I know, you all are telling me each years different. I found online practically every pin call out for other cars/makes but no 2nd gen firebirds! I have a build manual but it doesn't show a pin call out. Last edited by JUDGE3; 12-20-2023 at 10:59 AM. |

Yeah you need the shop manual for the pin out information, as far as I know it's not in the assembly manual. Hopefully someone can share a diagram for '73. Barring that, and assuming you still have the original gauge cluster, you can always hook up 12 volts to the cluster and touch each tab contact on the printed circuit with the positive wire. When the alt warning light and brake light activate, you know your pins.

Here, try this one. Red numbers correspond with the numbers on the connector.
Interesting. My diagram is incorrect. Let me modify it to be correct for your pinouts. Corrected version...
