Default Rebuilt tilt column

Wasn’t there a member here who sold rebuilt tilt columns for our cars? I have a later model one in my 71 that has the bulky cruise section on the left & I never liked the look of it. Finally want to swap it out when rebuilding the suspension.
If no member then what is my cheapest or best option ?
Thanks!

I'm in the same situation, I have a standard column and want a tilt.

Still looking for an early style tilt column if anyone has one or know who does. I would even throw in on trade with my nice 77-81 style column :-)
Thanks!

I have one in my car, and since I installed it and set it to just "straight" I have never moved it aside from to hold a old advertisement up on the dash at a show. I dont have a gut though.. but you may not really "need" it as much as you think you might .

True & a good point. However lots of factors come into play; height, weight (gut or no gut), arm length, seats, etc. My last 2 cars were set at 1-2 notches down.

What up C dog! I got mine done by a guy over at PT forums. I think his name was birdsandbowties or something like that. If that was who you were looking for I can confirm.

I purchased one of the reman tilt columns from our board sponsor for my 1977, which should be the same column. The switch was made to the column dimmer in 1978. Anyway, cosmetically, it was excellent. I had two beefs with it. One, the key buzzer switch was MIA, so I had to source an NOS Delco unit for an additional $45. Second, the turn signal cancelling cam was a very cheap quality replacement...So, yet again, I had to source an NOS Delco unit for an additional $30. The column was over $500 when it was all said and done, but it is like new and I have no other complaints with it.

I love mine in 72. I always flip up getting in and out and set kinda flat (low) for driving. They really flip wayyy up on high setting, which is nice, even for middleweight me.

I just checked and through Ames the columns are $599 plus shipping. They are listed 1970-76. Part number FA478HE.

Yeah wow, $600 or $650 is some coin. Looks like I will go the used route for $150 that I found locally & go from there. Worse case if it needed to be rebuilt I couldn’t see it costing $500 to do so...
Thanks guys

Sorry I just saw this. I think I paid 425 for my rebuilt column. I'll find the contact.
