Default Hooker Super Comp #4202 2" O-port headers firebird 70-74 (1981?)

$450

Hooker Super Comp #4202 2" O-port headers firebird 70-74 (1981?)

Bought an 81 firebird with a rebuilt unfired engine, edelbrock heads that had this new set of headers installed. They are the 4202 which according to Hooker fit the 70-74 firebird and have 2" primaries and 3.5" collector. Why they dont have it fitting the 75-81 firebird I dont know. But I can tell you that they were IN this 81 firebird and by all appearances seemed to fit with no modifications. Take it for what its worth...I cant guarantee it will fit in anyone elses car. lol

Theres no carbon in the tubes from being used, no dents and the curses I aimed at them while trying to get the engine out didnt seem to damage them at all. The headers do have some bits of surface rust in a few spots, paint flaking and scratches from installation and removal. This is a project that sat for 6 or so years, hence the bit of surface rust in spots, and Hooker says the paint is not intended for use on the vehicle anyway and recommends painting with high heat paint or ceramic coating.

They'd be expensive to ship but I guess I could. Also have a friend going to Norwalk that could take them but I'd need to know fast since he lives a distance from me. Located in Landenberg PA 19350 if you're local.

No factory round ports past 74. Should be fine in any second gen w/ round port heads. Ehead, etc.

Thank you Lou, that makes sense now. I was thinking maybe something different with the frame...but couldn't think what it might be. And it seemed to fit the 81 its just a pain in the &ss to get in/out.

Fit my 78 TA and the 79 Camaro with the Pontiac motor in it. Factory column park/neutral linkage will still work also. Fairly good fit like most header just a couple of bolts tight esp #5 .
