Interesting, if it's not attached to that hole what does your return spring connect to?

I'll confirm if my car actually has that hole, been wondering where that spring attaches.

Oops. My mistake. There is a hole in my car as well. I didn't see it when I checked earlier but I look more closely and found it. My hole is down lower though....almost at the very bottom of the body mount perch thing. I suppose a hole anywhere in that area will work though?

I Don't believe the 68's ever had that body mount bracket. I recall reading that in anther thread a while back anyway. Makes me wonder if the 8-1/2" spring is for that bracket that was used in 69. Such a weird configuration for 68 that sure seems like an after thought.

Would like to see a picture one of those 69 brackets installed though.

Goofy thing is it appears the spring will bind or at least rub against that body mount connected lower & down.
Have any picts?
