Default 1968 Air Cleaner Decal

Who makes the correct PP coded decal for a 1968 GTO air cleaner? I see PK in the catalogs but I don't believe that is correct for a 400 4 barrel. Thanks

I believe he may be referring to the white text decal to the left of the snorkel...

The half dozen very original '68 GTO bases I've had, there was no white gummed decal, instead the lettering & specific part number & two letter code were all silkscreened on the side of the base. Very similar deal over on '68 Olds 455's and base '68 olds 442 bases, silkscreened on the reddish-orange base.

Ok. Not the reponse I expected, but fun to read anyway. I was referring to the silkscreen wording on the side near the snorkel. On my all original 68 GTO the code is PP. Can't read the P/N. Anyway the catalogs selling the decal (for lack of a better word) have a differnet code. Who sells the PP version for a 400 with 4 barrel. Thanks

No suggestion on where to locate a PP code, but I thought I would post some pics of a couple different supposedly original coded air cleaners.
PP code = 4 speed
PK code = Auto

PR code = Auto or standard air cleaner?
PK Code = ????
Sorry guys. I meant PR code and what does the air cleaner codes mean?

Jim Osborn Reproductions makes the PP decal but they say it´s for 68-69 428 GP...
There part# is DT0768.
PY sells them, part# DT768! (not in stock when I checked online...)

Could probably be done with a rubber stamp if you could find someone to make it.

Where exactly was this positioned? Center front, or off the the right (passengers side) a bit? Currently searching for pictures of the placement for 68 4bbl

Is this correct?

This one is from my car around 1982 or so, before the PO powder coated the air cleaner.

Thats a great picture! I see some ribbed vacuum lines too

EDIT: looks like yours is actually a little to the right (left side of the car) based on the fuel line location underneath.
I wouldn't have expected that.

There are not other markings/decals on the assembly beside this one correct?

Nothing else on the base or lid.
I wouldn't expect the decal/silkscreen/transfer (whatever it is) to be exact on every air cleaner unless there was template of some sort.

And I need one too since the base and lid were powdercoated in the last 20 years.

I just have the white printed on a clear label. I believe its slightly glossier than the 60% gloss of the paint. Probably what most people think is correct now seeing there isn't much for options to screen it on & look the way the originals did.
