Have to say 69 because i have one plus it's the year i was born. Nothing against a 68. Wish i had one too.

Between the two, I like more things about the 68.
Better on 68's:
front grill /turn signals
dash design
auto shifter is cooler
rear marker lens design
steering wheel design
8 track design

Better on 69's:
rear bumper/tail lights
no vent window
readily available ram air options, including judge option

I've owned both twice now but prefer the old details of the '68 more; key in dash, vent Windows, etc

To all of the 1969 guys, you're welcome.

The Car Of The Year in 1968 paved the way for a few design tweaks on the exterior for you guys. more time to hone design. Changes to interior were mostly safety driven. I like them both. Used to own one of the very first Baltimore Judges produced. We're all lucky to have this body style...

It's close to 9PM PST on 4/13 and 68 (23 votes) is leading 69 (19 votes). Again, I'm biased towards 69 so the tally thus far surprises me a little. The 68 guys are making some strong/valid points but if any 69-71 Judge forum regulars ever decide to slum around the plain-jane 68-69 GTO forum, I'm sure the 69 totals will surpass 68.

68 is my 3rd least favorite GTO right behind 73 and 74. Kind of weird as 69 is towards the top of my list, if not on top, and the 68 is very close in style in a lot of ways but in the ways it's not is just way too wrong for me. Have felt this way about 68's since I was about 19.

Yeah, that's strange.

I wonder how 1968-69 would do compared with 1970?

Funny, I feel the same way about everyone's personal favorite: the '70. It's my 2nd least favorite year ahead of the '74 solely because of that nose.

I owned a '69 and loved it. '68s are nice, but there's just a bit too much "old school" way of doing things vs. the '69 being slightly more modernized that add to making it easier to maintain and the functionality - along with sharing more parts with the '70+ cars. I give the '69 the nod in this particular instance but it's not an easy decision as both do things really well. I prefer the '69 bumper and tail light assembly, but I sure do like the vent windows though...

I'd love to have a '69 in my collection but there is NO WAY I'll ever prefer the 'plasticky' '69 interior over the wood, steel, chrome look of the '68's interior. I prefer the key in the dash and the vent windows also. As someone pointed out, it's the perfect blend of old school and modernity.
I also prefer the lighter more airy look of the grille as opposed to the egg crate of the '69 grille.
The arrowhead markers rock..no two ways about it. I like the shield on the front fenders better than the 'GTO' badge there.
The rear bumper treatment is a bit improved on the '69 and I kinda like the front turn signals but I like the '68's wraparounds also as opposed to the little side marker 'dots'...
Like 'em both though.

Had a 68 GTO, and a couple 69 Leman's. Personaly I like a 69 Lemans with the big ol' chrome nose better then any of the bunch.

68 all the way . I do like the 69 rear bumper assembly better but that's it .

68 gets my vote. The grille work is cleaner looking than 69 and I like the taillights better too.

69's look better all around. Better interior, front end and rear end. Pontiac learned what was wrong on the 68's and corrected it with the 69's!

Since those 598 are not unique viewers, likely means some of us who have voted returned for an update peek.

Interesting how the percentages have progressed. When I first looked 68 had about two thirds of the votes. Now 69 is ahead by a nose.

I think goat whore is right . I have a 68 and someday would like a 70 , but really I don't know if I have a favorite anymore . I've even come around to the 73&74 . If I had to pic just one gto , I think I'd have a panic attack !
